Dr. Jennifer Ciobanu

Pianist

Jennifer Ciobanu (Doctorate of Musical Arts, University of North Texas) joined the music ministry in 2023. A native of Hattiesburg, MS, she attended Southeastern Louisiana University for her undergraduate education and received the Bachelor of Music degree in both Piano and Voice Performance. She moved to CenLA after living in DFW for a period of years in which her vocal pursuits took the primary stage. She served on the voice faculty of University of Texas at Arlington for 13 years and has appeared as a faculty artist in numerous recitals and as a soprano soloist for several DFW orchestral ensembles. Especially fond of Italian repertoire, Ms. Ciobanu has spent considerable time studying, teaching, and performing in Italy and is currently the Italian Diction coach for the Young Artists at the Fort Worth Opera Company. Assuming the position of church pianist at First Presbyterian Church Alexandria was in many ways a Louisiana homecoming for her seeing as it has been since her days at Southeastern that the piano has led in her musical endeavors. The proud Mom to Julia and Isaac, she prays that her musical abilities here at FPC and wherever the Lord may lead will glorify her Father in Heaven who is at work within her for his good will, purpose, and pleasure.
